James Nowak Obituary; Police Report That Officer James Jimmy Nowak Passed Away.

Officer James “Jimmy” Nowak of the Milwaukee Police Department will not have an honor guard accompany his body, the department has confirmed as his family gets ready to say goodbye.

According to Nowak’s family, the procedure was set to begin on Wednesday night at 8:00 p.m. with an honor walk from his hospital room to the surgery room.

They stated he will die with his family by his side after the operation.

Since the crash on Sunday, Nowak has been confined to the surgical ICU at Froedtert Hospital.

The MPD has refused to recognize the accident or Officer Nowak’s health throughout the course of the week, stating repeatedly that it does not provide information on occurrences that occur outside of its purview or involving personnel who were not on duty at the time.

We then asked MPD what honors were being planned for Nowak, comparable to the parade for fallen officer Peter Jerving, after his family informed us he would not survive his injuries.

“Honors are for line of duty deaths, and this is not a line of duty death,” the Milwaukee police stated plainly.
