Bob Kramer, whose marionette performances have captivated generations of children and adults, perished in the fire that destroyed his Central West End house and theater on January 20. He was 77.
Kramer’s sister received a phone call on Friday from the St. Louis Medical Examiner confirming that the body discovered in the fire was indeed his.
Kramer shared ownership of Bob Kramer’s Marionnettes, a renowned St. Louis institution that gave performances both domestically and abroad.
Douglas “Dug” Feltch, who managed to escape the fire and required medical attention for smoke inhalation, served as his business and personal partner.
